About Me

Logan Coles, photographer at 4 Elements Photography

Hi, I'm Logan, the mind and lens behind 4 Elements Photography. By day, I'm an engineer at General Motors, helping autonomous vehicles learn how to think for themselves (so you don't have to). By night—and most weekends—I trade circuits and code for cameras and clouds, chasing moments across earth, wind, water, and fire.

I graduated from Michigan State University—Go Green! (If you just yelled "Go White!" we're already friends.) My love for photography started over a decade ago, and it's taken me from mountaintops to midnight skies, capturing everything from weddings and portraits to aerial shots that give gravity the day off.

That engineering background shows up in the work: careful planning, clean file delivery, and FAA Part 107 discipline on every drone flight. The photographer side shows up in how I shoot—curious, adventure-minded, and more interested in real moments than stiff poses.

When I'm not framing the world through a lens, you'll probably find me running, skiing, hiking, or reading—usually somewhere outdoors and usually a little too far from cell service. Whether I'm photographing a couple's big day, the Milky Way, or the quiet symmetry of a shoreline, I aim to bring adventure, balance, and curiosity to every shot.

Based near Walled Lake, I regularly work across Metro Detroit, Grand Rapids, and statewide Michigan. Explore the portfolio, compare services, or book a session.
